I want to apologize for not wrapping up the details on my Mexico trip here on my blog! If you were waiting for the “exciting conclusion,” you may have felt a bit disappointed. Needless to say, I did return! Doug, Kaylee, Madison and I had a great time. We hope to share some pictures with you all soon during a Sunday morning service.
Today’s blog will not be long. I just want to get back into the habit again. What I want to do today, however, is pose a question that I hope will encourage you to respond and add your two cents. As we come to August and near the beginning of school, opportunities to serve and build community abound! VBS, the Backpack Outreach, youth groups and Care Groups all provide chances for each of us to get plugged into the Bailey church family and to make an eternal difference in the lives of those around us. What I’d like to hear from you is an answer to this question: What is your favorite part of being in the Bailey church family?
Simply use the comment section on this page and share your thoughts with the rest of the church family. I look forward to hearing from you!

Favorite part of being in the Bailey Church Family
BCC has the reputation of being an outreach church in our community; a church that truly desires to see people come to know Jesus Christ. My husband and I knew this before we began attending. BCC is a multi-generational church where "family members" seem to do a great job taking care of one another. I love the way we dig into scripture on Sunday mornings, both in church and in Sunday school and I love the fact that I have never attended a meeting with Daren where we didn't, at some point, go to prayer. Isaiah 58 is one of my favorite passages of scripture because it talks about what God considers a "true fast" and I believe the members of BCC do a good job in fulfilling the "true fast". God bless you all for being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Lots of reasons and favorite things
First, there are so many things to like about Bailey! When we moved to Newaygo it seams like we tried every church in the area. What hooked us on Bailey was the other people that attended. You could tell that God was working in and with this congregation. I especially appreciate the experienced and humble group of elders. What a great example they set for the rest of us! Daren's messages are well researched, prepared and delivered and often include examples and illustrations I hadn't heard before. It's great to get a fresh viewpoint on a common part of scripture. I like how most of the people attending contribute in one way or another to the different ministry opportunities the church provides. The church's outreach programs are a great example of it's mission. I guess the best way to sum up why I like Bailey is because the members don't just talk the talk, they walk the walk. I'm sure there are some exceptions to that, but overall I feel that is an accurate statement.

My favorite part about Bailey? (I think that was the original question wasn't it?) It seems that no matter how far along you are in your walk with God, Bailey will meet you at the spot and will push you to keep walking, keep growing and keep becoming more Christ-like. Bailey isn't content with where I am now. They want me to continually grow deeper in my faith.

BAILEY
I like the sermons the best because they always seen to relate to real life today. I have not got to know very many people at church-- but I do know that I never feel like anyone comes across as being better then anyone else. There are smiles and a calm feeling from the sec you walk in the door.

The worship, praise and sermons. Knowing that the Church is teaching the true Word of God! Also, our care groups. The connection with others, sharing, praying for each other & knowing that we are not alone with are struggles.

Best part
to pick on thing that is my favorite is hard. I love the fact that the bcc family is a group of people of all ages, different backgrounds, and all in different places in their walk, yet we all seem to fit together as one. The bcc family is very encouraging, loving, committed to each other and not judgemental which has helped me grow tremendously in my walk, and give me the desire to continue daily in that walk. the family at BCC is AMAZING!!

Favorite part of BCC
Small care group by far has been the best part for me. If you don't have a spouse, or children at home to interact with, care group is there to help. I can't imagine not being part of a group. Care group helps reach out, throught prayerand support for myself and others through the struggles, and allows us to share in the good times of our life as well. I believe group sharing strengthens our daily walk with Christ and help to support the entire church family by praying over the daily struggles of keeping a great church like BCC going in the right direction.

Daren, you are a great, caring pastor and are continually feeding us with the right recipe of love, ecouragement and insight keeping us focused on living a life that God intended for us. Thank you for all you do.

BCC family
Jeff, thanks for your comments! I agree that the relational aspects of BCC are the coolest part. God has been so good to us and being able to share all parts of our lives with other brothers and sisters is both a joy and a comfort.

Bailey
Daren, I enjoy so much about Bailey. If I have to pick my favorite part I guess the people and the close relationships that have been made with them is the favorite. I believe they are truly my family...They are not just there Sunday morning. We have and all will go through life storms - they are there then also...even when it gets real messy and ugly. They are the real deal! Not just pew sitters. With my Church family by my side I feel I can handle any storm.
Our worship and praise and your sermons would probably be a close second. I truly love the singing. You and your ability to use the Bible to address the tough issues of our time is very important to me. Your sermons are very easy to relate to and never boring and although you sometime are talking about things that happened 4000+ years ago you seam to always connect to our lives today and make it realavent. I learn a lot from you.

When I look around at the various people that worship at Bailey I feel blessed to be a part of of such a group and they challenge me to be better.
The only thing that I can think of that I don't like is when we break into small groups...I want to hear what all have to say.
